About Our Founder
_________________
Charles Kane is the owner and founder of Alphaeus Group, a licensed North Carolina brokerage firm. He began his career in industrial real estate, connecting buyers and property owners. Later, Charles joined a private development firm, where he immersed himself in the life cycle of deals — from acquisition strategy and due diligence, to helping prepare properties for purchase and supporting their eventual sale and disposition.
From there, he shifted his focus to land, speaking directly with landowners and finding properties with real development potential.
Alphaeus Group is here to serve landowners with the same clarity and strategic insight.
Outside of brokerage, Charles is drawn to projects that support the long-term well-being of his home state, including creative and civic efforts that reflect a similar commitment to legacy and transformation.
Behind Our Name
_________________
Derived from ancient Greek and Hebrew, Alphaeus carries the meaning “to change,” “to succeed,” or “to follow after.” That idea of meaningful transition is what drew founder Charles Kane to the name.
Alphaeus Group was built to guide landowners and developers through moments of change — where decisions shape futures and land becomes legacy. Though often misspelled as Alpheus (a name from Greek mythology meaning river or flowing water), Alphaeus Group stands for deliberate progress, not passive movement. That distinction defines what we do.
